“I Dont Wanna Stop” è stato il singolo apripista dell’ultimo album di Ozzy Osbourne, “Black Rain”, uscito l’anno scorso. E’ stata una vera gioia risentire il grande Ozzy cantare finalmente qualcosa di decente. L’album precedente a questo, che nemmeno ricordo il titolo, è stato davvero un flop infatti.

Ozzy in effetti aveva fatto presagire qualcosa di buono per “Black Rain”. La sua forma fisica e mentale sembrava migliorata, questo grazie all’abbandono di alcool e psicofarmaci. Tutti i fans di vecchia e nuova data aspettavano quindi con estrema curiosità “I Don’t Wanna Stop”, che si rivelò infatti una canzone sicuramente accettabile. Non si può fare il paragone con canzoni come “Crazy Train” ovviamente. Il paragone, se proprio deve essere fatto, va fatto con i gruppi attualmente in circolazione che fanno musica simile. E Ozzy nonostante l’età da una grande lezione a tutti.

Il testo della canzone è scritto da Ozzy e parla appunto di se stesso. Della sua vita condotta sempre al limite, senza fermarsi mai. Interessante il passo:

“Troppe religioni per un solo dio
Non ho bisogno di un altro salvatore
Non cercare di farmi cambiare idea
Lo sai di che razza sono
Non cambierò il mio cattivo comportamento”

Ozzy vuol far capire qui di essere rimasto sempre lui, il malvagio mangia-pipistrelli. Ma forse ormai per questioni di business è costretto a recitare la sua parte. Un po’ come i tanti artisti del suo genere.

Nel video vediamo suonare “sospesi in aria” Ozzy con il suo gruppo. Da notare il fedele chitarrista Zack Wylde che secondo me ha messo più che lo zampino nella produzione dell’album.
