“Walking in My Shoes” è una delle canzoni più famose dei Depeche Mode. Estratta dall’album “Songs of Faith and Devotion” del 1993, raggiunse senza tanti problemi la prima posizione della prestigiosa classifica statunitense Billboard. Il brano è inoltre presente in svariate raccolte come: “The Singles 86-98″, “The Best Of”, “Vol. 1″, ecc.

In “Walking in My Shoes” si parla di un uomo consapevole del suo essere peccatore, quindi conscio della sua umanità. Quest’uomo invita chiunque non sia d’accordo con il suo pensiero, a vestire i suoi panni.

Il videoclip è stato girato da Anton Corbijin e contiene molti riferimenti artistici alle opere di Bosch e di Alighieri. Un uso sapiente del bianco e del nero, intervallato da figure a dir poco inquietanti come abiti astratti o maschere di uccelli con il becco ritorto, rende il tutto più particolare e ambiguo. Insomma è un video musicale davvero azzeccato per la tematica trattata da “Walking in My Shoes”!
